Tubal Ligation.

Yesterday was the big appointment to have my tubal ligation procedure done.
There was a no drinking, eating, or medication including medicinal herbs after midnight rule, which I followed as much as I hated. We got to the hospital at around 8:45 and I was in a hospital bed wearing a gown by 9:06. They took my blood pressure which was actually fantastic for once, gave me a breathing treatment since I am a smoker, set up an IV but numbed the area first thankfully (I have no problem with needles, but the IV needles are beasty), gave me medication through the IV for stomach upset, as well as something they called 'happy juice'. The last thing I remember was the doctor performing the procedure checking my groin to see if it needed to be shaved.
I woke up very disoriented, couldn't see straight, was sore and tired. I was back home by 1PM with prescriptions for percocet and motrin. I was very sick yesterday, I threw up most of everything I ate and drank but I don't feel as nauseous today. I was also very sleepy and cat napped a lot through yesterday, but I'm pretty good today. I did have problems with swelling (Fingers, hands, feet) but that's gone as well.
All in all, it was a very simple procedure and was much less painful than I had expected. The soreness is a bit of an inconvenience, but it's nothing compared to a c-section.
Personally if anyone is looking for a permanent method of birth control like I was since it's not safe for me to carry another pregnancy, I definitely recommend a tubal ligation. I could have easily went to classes today if they were open on Saturdays.
